Hi Linda!

I just wanted to reach out and thank you again for the pup we picked up from the Olive/Hemi line back at the end of January.  Her name is Rocket (after Rocket Racoon from Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy). Today she is 1 year old and we couldn’t be happier. Being an active dog and a puppy she has done her fair share of destroying things but we couldn’t be happier!  This dog is obsessed with playing fetch. The highlight of her day is to go across the street to the park and have me throw a ball for her. She will bring random toys to you and want you to throw them as well. Also she learns so fast. It seems like we only have to teach/show her things only a few times before she remembers it and will repeat the behavior on command. If I ever need another German Shepherd I will be coming back to you!

Testimony:
I had the honor of collaborating on a litter with Linda and John, using their stud Hemi on my female. As a fellow breeder, I cannot speak highly enough of what a pleasure it was to co-breed a litter with them. Their honesty, integrity, passion for bettering the German Shepherd breed, and pure hearts, are a breath of fresh
air in the dog world. Their stud Hemi is the utmost gentleman, and he made the most beautiful puppies. I’m already looking forward to repeating this breeding.

This is Goose. We got her from you 2 years ago and what an amazing pup. We continue to be so happy with her!

Hello John & Linda,

As you know, Olive & Hemi’s green boy aka Ronan, is just over 15 months old.

Training is going great! We just progressed to group classes and Roni is e collar trained on heel and recall. We train twice a day, every day. He’s a lot of dog! His favorite activities are chasing bubbles and fetching his ball. He’s a smart, confident dog. We finally decided it was time to let him out of his kennel at night when it’s bedtime. He chose the hallway as his lookout but roams freely and sleeps whereever he wants now.

Once we progress through the beginner obedience training, I plan to continue to get his AKC CGC Cert and then intermediate and advanced off leash training. I’ve been taking him to the barn and walking him with the horses. So far, he’s doing great! He’s a handsome boy and now that we’re getting pst the baby dragon phase, we’re really enjoying him.

Hope all is well with you. I love seeing the photos of the new puppies. Tempting. Very tempting…

Take care,

Julie

Hi there Linda,

Ava Roo is one year old today! (Dakota/Eli) It’s been so much fun adding her to our family and seeing how much she’s grown over the year. She has quite the personality. When we first met her, we thought she was going to be shy and have a mild temperament; and boy is she the opposite of shy! She is sassy and energetic, she LOVES other dogs, she LOVES humans, especially if they play tug with her, she always wants to be outside and if she’s inside, she’s usually looking out a window or claiming the bed or couch as her favorite napping spots. Ava has started to snuggle with us more and more and wants to spend every moment with us, but when she’s left alone, she does so well. I’ve never seen a dog adapt so easily to new situations. A ride in the car is a highlight every time; one moment her head is out the window, she’s going back and forth taking in all of the scenery, and the next moment, she’s sound asleep. It has been a joy with our little adventure pup and we’re so appreciative of the quality and healthy start you gave her!
Thank you! Hope you’re well!

Hi Linda-
Sorry this is so long overdue but I thought I would send you some pictures of Igor (Eli/Shelby puppy).  He is certainly loved and an amazing family dog…. VERY protective of me and the kids.  For being the smallest of the litter he has certainly grown and even our friends who also have shepherds will comment as to how large and handsome he is (approaching 90lbs and not even a year old… and not from fat).  As you can see in the pictures he sometimes thinks that he is still the small puppy from when we got him.  Thank you so much!

Hey Linda, My name is Jason P. and I wanted to give you a 10 month update on Odin. Purchased him from you guys back in August (Hemi/Wager parvo litter) And I’ve gotta say, he’s been outstanding. Definitely mischievous but smarter than I could of ever hoped for. He’s about 70 pounds or so and as athletic as can be. There is no “tired” for this guy. Started protection training with him about a month ago. The trainers and others at the class marvel at his drive and calmness when on a bite. I’ve been told by more than one person, this is strictly the result of genetics. There have been several people who have inquired where I purchased him from and I’ve been sure to give you guys a great review. I’ve included some pics also… Thanks again,
Jason P.

The puppy I got from this breeder exceeded my expectations in every way. He has astonishing agility, gorgeous conformation, and he’s a total sweetheart. At only 5 months, he is already showing every sign of becoming a fine protector. Thank you,
Linda Hartelt

Hemi Girl/ Eli pup:

I just wanted to say thank you for my beautiful boy. I am so in love with him. He  Is doing really well with pottying. Only peed once in the house and has pooped outside everytime. Smart as a whip. I’m in love. And he didn’t say a thing in the car! Good traveller! Thanks again

Hello Linda,
We wanted to give you an update on Remy who we picked up on December 16th last year.
It’s hard to describe what an amazing dog she is.
She loves her people and is incredibly protective of her family. She comes with me to put my 4 year old daughter to bed every night and has to give her kisses before she leaves the room. She runs with our 12 year old daughter when she practices for track.
My husband continues to train with the CSPD K-9 unit and is currently a candidate to start as a K9 Officer. He brought so many valuable training tricks home which made Remy very obedient. Her alert behavior is exactly what we were looking for with my husband’s line of work.
When she isn’t playing with her favorite toys, tennis balls, she loves to snuggle and worships her belly rubs.
I am her person in our home, although, she obviously loves every single one of us. When I get back from nursing school classes she is so happy, one would think I had been gone for years.
Thank you for giving us our Remy. She completes our family so perfectly.
Sincerely, Vanessa B

Raksha: a Maya/Hemi puppy.
Hi Linda!
I just wanted to thank you so much again for choosing us to care for Raksha. She truly has been an amazing dog with such a sweet heart.
She is a true blue family dog. She’ll stay right by my side while out on walks, while I’m working out in the yard, and even in the house. She’s really imprinted on all of us.
Sticking to the German Shepherd nature, she does so well with our three small children, as well as our other pets. She can be a bit aloof to strangers at first, but after a short few minutes of observing she warms right up!
Raksha is high-spirited. She absolutely LOVES to play fetch with a ball. She loves to go on car rides with us. She’s very affectionate with her gentle kisses, haha! Our girls love to run around our property with Raksha right by their side “shepherding” them. She’s got so many great qualities I have a difficult time listing them all. So, all on all, thanks so much again for such an amazing, sweet-hearted dog.

My husband decided he wanted to get another dog and he wanted one he could train as a service dog for him. I said “no, i don’t want another damn dog”. I was dragged along while he had pick of the litter and have kept my “i don’t want another damn dog” attitude. Well, we got the puppy yesterday. That damn dog hasn’t peed or pooped in my house once. he even had the nerve to paw at the door and wait for me to let him out to pee. I was like “ok.. you’re just showing off. Lets see how you do tonight in your kennel”. So.. night time came. I laid in bed feeling reassured with my thoughts that this is going to be an awful idea as he began to whine. 2 minutes later he was asleep. BUT, he woke me up at 4 am so he could pee so he didn’t win completely…. but then he went back into his kennel and didn’t make a sound… whatever.

I was a tad giddy today when i saw him chewing on my husbands new shoes. I told myself that i’d give him one chance to drop the shoe before i grabbed my husband and said “see… this is a horrible idea”. *sigh*, he dropped the shoe after the first no and switched to chewing on his bone. Now, i’m not sure if this dog is onto me and just waiting for the opportune time to show his crazy or if he really IS an amazing dog. Time will tell and i’ll sleep with one eye open for awhile and give him the “i’m watching you” fingers.
Here is a picture of him and i figured i’d share my thoughts about this “damn” dog in case anybody out there would be interested in a puppy such as him. As much as it pains me to say this, the breeder was amazing and it shows in her pups. She had worked on house training and kennel training him before he came to us and you can definitely tell. So, here is his picture and i’ll put the breeder’s info in the comments.

Cleo:

If you know me then you know that I can’t let too much time pass without bragging on my girl, Cleo.

The day I picked up Cleo at seven and a half weeks old from the breeder, she took a pee outside before I loaded her in my truck.

I built this outdoor litter box for her at home after doing some research prior to picking her up. After that hour and half ride home, I immediately took her out of the crate in the truck and took her to this litter box where she did both one and two.

From that day forward, that’s the only place at home that she would do her business. It’s always made cleanup super easy and I don’t have to go hunting for land mines.

Fast forward that training to two years later out here on the road, and I don’t have to hunt for land mines here either.

When we get to a location, Cleo will take a little time to scout things out until she finds her “spot”. Then, for the duration that we’re there, she will only go potty in that one spot.

So I don’t have to follower her around on a leash or with a poopy bag. I just wait till the day we leave, put on a pair of rubber gloves, grab a trash bag, and go to that one spot to clean up after her. Again, super convenient.

That’s yet another reason why I like camping on BLM property vs. a campground. Campgrounds do require a little more supervision.

Anyway, just a little praise to my girl. There’s not much more satisfying than a well-trained dog.
